Pinhole effect- Pudsey Shoot

These are the photos we did to represent pinhole photographs. We had to edit them on Photoshop instead of going out and doing it ourself as we don't have enough time and we don't have a pin hole camera.

we had to manipulate the levels and contrast, give it a zoom effect and change the quality so it looks grainy to give it that pinhole effect.

This photograph was taken in Pudsey park this is the ice cream strand, it reminds me on a Chinese huts that you see in movies because of the shape of the roof.
I really like this effect because it gives it that old edgy look without getting rid off any of the quality and because it is done on Photoshop you have so much room to work with.
Even know you can only see part of the building i have photographed i still think that it is very effective. I like how the tree is coming in from the side and braking up the photo a bit, this adds to the creepy and edy effect you get when doing the pinhole technique.
This is a photograph that i have taken in Pudsey, it is a side door into Pudsey leisure centre. I do like the original photograph but i do not like this one because i think it is too edited and the side of the door is too white and bright.  If i was going to edit this again, i would make sure that the white wasn't too intense. I would try and bring the detail out more instead of it looking almost like a big blur.

I really like this photograph i think it is definitely one of the best ones from this pinhole technique. It doesn't look too edited and it hasn't lost any detail from the editing.
I would change this photograph i like the angle it help to enfranchise the size of the building.

Colour film Contact Print.

These are my photographs from the colour film shoot in Leeds city centre.
I enjoy using the film camera and this is the first time we have used colour film so i was really excited  to see the turn out.

I was definitely shocked by the quality i was expecting it to be pretty bad but it was surprisingly good and i love the effect it gave some of your photos.

I like the bits of dust in the photos and the water marks, some people edit them out but i think that takes away the film and grainy effect, which can add a lot to your image.

If i was to go out and re-shoot I would have to take more film so i could take more photos and spend more time in town, so i could find good buildings.

I would also spend more time looking for buildings i would go a little bit furtherer and i would plan my time and the route i was going to go a lot better.

Photography Techniques- Examples & in Technical Folder

This is a follow on from my Camera and photography Techniques I did this task in my technical book, but I wanted to expand on it a little, give examples and tell you what I like and dislike about these techniques.
This is an example of Double Exposure. I really like this idea. In most double exposure they use two different types of photos for example one would this be a face and the buildings. But this one is the same its of a girl and then the same girls with her hands over her face. Its amazing how well they blend together.

This is an example of Negative Burning. I really like this effect and I think that it adds age and mystery to your photographs. I think that this would be really interesting to try out an d to experiment with. Definitely with out project this is focusing on old and new buildings.

This is an example of a photomontage i really like this idea i think that it would be a lot of work and really difficult but the outcome and the finish piece. I mite try and do this as an example in my work book.

Phototogram is a technique that i am familiar with as i have done it before in a previous year. I really liked this technique because you can do so much and its so simple it takes 5 minutes and is really effective.

Scratching Negatives. I love this effect I think that it looks so magical and so pretty but could be used to like quite scary as well. So this simple technique is really effective and useful.

Solarization, I  have actually done this myself in the dark room and i think this looks really good it reminds me of a x-ray effect. This can add so  much to your photos it can brighten it up a lot make it look angle like or it can make it dark and creepy. I personally think that ever of these effects could work well with this project theme.

Bleaching Negatives i havent done this technique myself yet but i think i mite give it a try in the future because, i like the effect it gives off. I like this effect because it gives an overlay of colour which fires up the image.

This technique is very similar to Double Exposure. It gives a similar effect and is still very effect and interesting depending on the images you use and what message you are trying to put across.
I think that is technique is only effect with black and white photos because the colour photos can be very distracting and hard to focus on.

Painting with developer is something I have done before and found it very interesting but this technique is only effect on some photos as it can be difficult to focus on the main point or part of your photograph.  Althought you can use this method to paint the main focus of the image on and leave the area around it blank.

Colour Splash

Colour Splash
These are the Digital photograph that i have taken when we went on the colour film shoot. Though out this project we are trying to focus on buildings architecture and communication though images.
I think that communication can be difficult when your photographing a building and trying to give a message. I also think you need to know what message and what feeling your trying to give the viewer before you go out and do the shoot. This gives you a better idea on what you are trying to accomplish and how to make it happen in a single photograph.

This photo has been Gray scaled and then edited so only the sky is in colour. Although the sky isn't bright and is raver dull and quite boring and also insignificant its still very effective. I think that if the sky was brighter and it was a sunnier and more energetic day that is photo could be massively better because it would be so much more brighter and this would make the overall photo jump out so much more and be interesting for the viewer.

This is off the arena in Leeds city centre. This new architecture which is probably the first new building that i actually like. I personally thing that most of the new buildings are a bit simple and boring but this one was so interesting a completely different shape and style and so colourful which i thought was lovely.
Because this building is so big i wish i could get a full size photograph of it with the full building with some people outside so you could see the scale and size and it would be great for juxtaposition.
This another digital photograph that i have taken when we id the colour film shoot. In my previous work where i talk about the trip. I said how much I like this photo because of this main bit of colour so i thought with the colour pop this would be the perfect bit for me to make it stand out.
In future i would make my photo a lot more bigger so i could have more colour in this photograph so that it was more interesting and more colourful to look at.  I think this would be better if the overall photo was darker and then i colour splashed the little bit so that it stud out more.
