Abstract Dipticks

These are my photos that i have taken for my abstract work, I had to photograph buildings in an abstract way so they don't look realistic and so they appear different. I really enjoyed doing this because it give you that chance to look at the buildings from a different perspective.
I enjoyed looking for the buildings and finding ones that really jump out and look almost like an allusion depending on what angle you look at them.

I think that all of them are amazing but could be improved by maybe some editing and i think this would be a lot better if i went to town because the building are more new and you can experiment more with this idea.

I think that taking photographs in an abstract way really helps to make the photographs jump out and be more interesting to look at. By putting the same building but in dipticks really helps to show that, from taking photos from a different angle can change how it appears and feels when you look at the photo.

This shoot was done outside so all the light is natural light, so this influence the photograph a lot and really can influence the feeling you get from the image.
For the most of my photos i focused on older buildings because personally i think they are so much more better to photograph and so much more interesting to look and annualise.

Next time i am going to do a shoot in my own time so that it is different from everyone else and so that i have more time to experiment with ideas and what i am trying to accomplish for my final images.

I like this effect that much that I am considering using this idea in one of my final images, its a really interesting concept and idea and can communicate different things to different people depending on how they see the image.

Colour Film Shoot Trip.

Colour Film Shoot, What we did in Leeds city centrer digital images.
We went on a trip to Leeds city centre to photograph new buildings to follow on from our previous shoot with was in black and white, in Bradford and of old buildings.

We had to get permission to photograph in the Trinity Centre, we had to get permission because it is a public place and some shops and places think that you may be trying to steal ideas. But as we got permission we was allowed to photograph pretty much anywhere in the Trinity centre, which was good, but it is very interesting to look at the design of the building.

This is the floor in trinity on the middle floor in the centre. I thought this was so interesting because the whole  building is focused around a glass design bright, open and clear, but this odd and jumps out because its got a hint of colour, almost a light faded blue which i think it lovely.

It does fit a little as this is also glass and fits with the rest of the building, but i think the colour is good, it helps break it up and make it look more bright and welcoming.

I have taken this photo from this angle because i think you can see the whole sheet of colour but its from the side so it makes it more interesting to look at.

This is the roof of the Trinity Centre which is made of glass which i mentions in my other photo.
You can see here that it is really open and bright but not very colour full and some would say simple but if you look carefully you can see the shape in the glass and how it look like an allusion almost.

I like effect because you still feel like your in a nice warm shopping centre yet you have the open glass roof and the breeze because its not properly closed.

I think it would look so much better if it had more of them little splashes of colour to make it feel more warm and welcoming.

I have taken this photo from the angle almost looking up and straight on so you can see the full length and effect of the building and the roof an the lovely effect it has.

This is a photograph of the  leeds arena. This was the first time i saw this myself and it is really pretty and at night it is supposed to light up so i can imagine that is looks amazing. I would definitely love to see it at night and take some photos.

I decided to take it from this angle because its gets most of the building in but its pretty massive but i think i get enough of the building colour and shape to give you a good feel and idea of everything.

I did plan to go take photos of the Broadcasting tower at the top of Leeds but we didn't have enough time ones we got to most of the places we has to start heading back to go home. So in future i would give myself more time or go out by myself to get more photos of this building and others.

I love the look of the building i think that it is so interesting and different to all the other buildings in Leeds. The idea again is so simple yet so effective. I don't really like the colour of the building i think it would look so much if it was like a bright metal silver colour so it really jumped out.

How to over lay Textures Photoshop - Technical Folder

These are my boarder photos that i did on Photoshop

I like this ghostly effect this boarder has i think it may work with a more ghostly and scary looking photo but it is still very effective. I think it could be better if it was less bold again and a more thin boarder.

I dont like this one as much because the photos is so light and natural and then it has a solid black boarder which dosent work at all with this photo, it would look so much better if it was faded and less bold and big.

These are my photos that i used to do my boarders on Photoshop. I like this effect if you can get the boarders right witch can be difficult sometimes. I this one because its not in your face its faded but still very effective and goes very well with the old creepy church effect.

Overall I don't like the overall effect that the borders give to your images, I think that they can make the feel very cramped and take a lot of attention of the photo and to the border which distracts the the viewer. I am not saying it wont work with every photo but its very hard to make it fit and to look natural and relate to you image, something so simple like a border can change  the feeling  of the photograph and it works really well with dark and creepy photograph, to give the old misty effect.

overlaying textures in Photoshop.

I really like this one it reminds me of a sign that you may use to protest. Maybe because of the font or because of how it is presented but it is so effective and it works really well together.

I like this one a lot, this is off an old building in bradford, that was taken on a film camera and i have overlapped a photo of a stain glass window. Which it think is so effect because of the colours and it creates lovely contrast.

These two photos are so sudden and not as effective because you can see one of the photos as much. which i think dosent look as good, you much be able to see both photos clear unless you are focusing on one more to give a certain effect or fleeing.

I like this one because both photos are from buildings but one is a scanned negatives with i think adds a bit of mystery to the photo because unlike a digital photograph its not perfect which i like.

These are my photos that I  did for overlaying textures. All these photos are from many different shoots and some are even my negatives.
I really like this effect that this can have on your work and on your photos. it can look amazing if you put the right images and textures together it can have a really lovely effect.

I love this because you can clearly see the two different photos but only so sudden and i think that something so simple can change the feeling and effect of your photograph.

I am definitely going to take this technique into consideration when i am out shooting because its so interesting and so easy to work with.

Photo Joiners

This again is one of my photo joiners, this one was also done in the college, this is a little side door at the side of some stairs, which i thought was really spooky and interesting because it seemed to secret and mysterious.

I like this photo joiner a lot more then my other one because i think it fits better together and is so much more interesting to look at. The light in this photograph is artificial light so its not as bright as it would be if it was outside, plus this photo was taken in a quiet side bit so it didnt have a lot of light also it was near a large stain glass window which  think if it was a brighter day could have possible make this photo better. I may so re-shoot on a brighter day to see if this effects my final outcome and improves it.

I think that if i edited all these photos as well they would look so much more better and way  more interesting to look at the moment it looks a bit bland and boring.

I think that I could do this again and make it relate to my project a lot more because my project is focusing on new and old buildings and architecture and i think that my photo joiner dosent relate as much as it could. So i may go out and re-shoot this but focusing on my project a lot more so it
relates.

Fence Joiner Photo and Evaluation

This is my Photo Joiner of  this fence like think inside the college, I thought that it looked really interesting because of all the patterns and the little details. I knew that this would be hard but interesting to try and put back together.
I think that overall it looks really good, I  think that even know its not all matching and not all perfectly together this adds to the art of photo joining because if it all looked perfect you mite as well just take one big massive photograph.

To improve it I would probably take it from more of a distance so that I could get more of a background and a bigger overall photo to play with, I would also take more little photos from different angles so that I could experiment with different angles and have more photographs to work with.

This photograph was taken in front of a window. Which I think helps the fencing stand out a lot more and helps enhance the overall photograph. I think this could look a lot better on a brighter day so it was more vibrant and almost energetic. I think that some of this photo is very dull because of the mixed light artificial and natural.

If i was going to change anything i would change the angle that i photographed at so that it was more interesting and not just straight on and i think this would make my joiner more challenging which would be really interesting to work with.

B&W film shoot. Bradford City

These are my film photos from the my first film shoot on this project that I did in Bradford City centre. Some of my photos have turned out really good but some are out of focus and overs are raver under or over exposed.

Overall I really like these photos are amazing, they look so good and they haven't even been developed yet in a dark room, these are just scanned copies so I could see how my photos where looking.

I really like the photographs of the shape and texture in the wall, I think they are so interesting to look at and are overall good photos because of the lighting and angle that they are taken at. I also think that the one of the stain glass windows are amazing too because even know they are out of focus, I think this adds a lot of mystery and interest into the photograph.

I think that I could have more interesting photos if I had more time and I could go a little further to take my photographs and then everyone would have different photos.

I am going to compare my scanned negatives to my developed negatives, to see which ones i think are better and why they are better. the good thing about being able to scan negatives is that you can can and then upload them online.
